Theory of Change
TAMA’s Theory of Change is rooted in the belief that empowering smallholder farmers—especially women and youth—with knowledge, tools, and market access is key to transforming agriculture and ending poverty. We begin by mobilizing farmers and providing training in sustainable, climate-smart practices and agro-mechanization. With improved skills and access to modern tools, farmers increase productivity and resilience to climate shocks. We then support them to organize into groups and cooperatives, enhancing their bargaining power and access to finance.
Through partnerships with market actors like Wakulima, farmers gain reliable markets for their produce, ensuring stable incomes. Improved livelihoods lead to better nutrition, education, and overall well-being for rural households. Simultaneously, we advocate for supportive policies to scale impact nationally. This cycle—empowerment, productivity, value addition, and advocacy—creates lasting change and drives TAMA’s vision of a food-secure and prosperous Tanzania, where agriculture is a dignified, modern, and sustainable livelihood.
